Undercard sa Alvarez-Kovalev showdown: Bilis gagamitin ni Pinoy boxer Romero Duno vs Ryan Garcia

LOS ANGELES – Sa darating na Nobyembre 2, magaganap ang Alvarez-Kovalev sa MGM Grand, Las Vegas.

Bukod dito, inaasahan din ang bakbakan sa undercard na co-main event, kung saan matutunghayan ang pasikat na Pinoy boxer na si Romero Duno (21-1) at haharapin ang Mexican-American boxer na si Ryan Garcia (18-0).

Sa isang Instagram post ni Duno, kasama ang ilang Pinoy boxers, makikita na kasama rin nito sa training ang kontrobersilal na athletics coach na si Angel “Memo” Heredia Hernandez.

Ayon kay Hernandez, nakikitaan niya ng malaking potensyal itong si Duno.

Kaya naman nais nitong mas palakasin ang endurance at mas pabilisin ang Pinoy boxer.

“Ryan is a good fighter. My respect to him. He is a good kid and has a good future in boxing. He has shown good charisma and the people like him. I think it will be a good fight on the undercard,” dagdag pa ni Garcia

Si Hernandez ay kilala bilang isang strength and conditioning coach ng mga discus throw at track and field athletes.

Natulungan din nito ang ilang mga sikat na boksingero katulad ni Juan Manuel Marquez at Jorge Arce, na parehas na nanalo ng world titles.

Tinutulungan din nito sa pagsasanay ang Mexican superstar na si Saul “Canelo” Alvarez at si Ryan Garcia sa pamamagitan ng pakikipag-sparring dito.

Former UFC fighter Francis Ngannou accused AJ camp of ‘trickery’ when he suffered devastating knockdowns in the first and second round last March 8, 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The MMA fighter and former UFC heavyweight champion said that AJ camp sabotaged him by letting him go early in the arena.

“We both fought at 3am. What I think, something that’s happened is that they get me to the arena very early. Like my pickup time was 10.30pm to go to the arena. And then when we get to the arena, they tell us that we are scheduled around 1.45am. right?” Ngannou blurted.

He believed that he came exhausted, which resulted in his humiliating defeat.

Texas Department urges Mike Tyson to pass EEG, EKG tests

The 57-year old legend Mike Tyson (50 wins – 6 loss) vs 27-year old YouTuber Jake Paul (9 wins – 1 loss) must undergo major tests before the fight to materialize at AT&T Stadium in Texas Arlington on July 20, 2024.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR) urged Tyson to undergo or pass a brain test Electroencephalography (EEG) and Electrocardiogram (EKG) for the heart.

“A person aged 36 or older applying for a contestant’s license must submit a report of favourable physical testing conducted within the previous 12 months, including but not limited to an EEG and an EKG.” TDLR elaborated.

Meanwhile, the American youtuber explained that he picked Tyson because he wants to change the history of boxing. He already fought Floyd Mayweather Jr but he lost.

Victor Wembanyama hits Tim Duncan, O’ Neal records

Victor Wembanyama broke a record of 100 blocks as a rookie last January 8, 2024 in Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, Cleveland, Ohio vs Cavaliers.

Spurs center and power forward Wemby has played 31 games so far and his 4th block on the said game made him the 6th player in NBA history to reach that mark in their first 35 games.

The NBA records show that Wemby (2023-24) hit Tim Duncan at the 6th place as a rookie with the most games played. Shaq had 28 and Alonzo Mourning 18 in 1992-93.

The other NBA players who also reached that 100 blocks record as rookie are Shawn Bradley (1993-94), Alonzo Mourning (1992-93), Shaquille O’Neal (1992-93) Manute Bol (1985-86), Terry Tyler (1978-79).
