Unbeaten lightweight star Ryan Garcia will start his 2021 with a daunting task of fighting Luke Campbell on January 2nd.
The 20-0 Garcia will face the much older Campbell that will dictate his upbringing for a title contention.
This will be the toughest opponent Garcia will face on his early career. Campbell has a resume of 20 wins with 16 knockouts and 3 losses.
Although their professional career records are close to each other, Campbell has been in the league as he already fought twice in a championship match.
Garcia has been impressing everyone with his speed and power, much like of a younger version of Manny Pacquiao but with the left hook power of Nonito Donaire Jr.
Hence, defeating the 33-year old British will boost his position to be the top contender for a middleweight belt.
In fact, the 22-year old has already an opponent in mind after Campbell.
“After I beat Luke Campbell, I want Gervonta Davis. That’s the win that will make me a superstar,” Garcia.
Indeed it is, due to the fact that Davis has been a force to reckon with in the featherweight and carried the unbeaten winning streak to his jump in the lightweight.
