Pacquiao-Spence meet at pre-fight press con to officially announce fight

Eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao and unified – WBC and IBF
welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr., met for the first time before their much
anticipated bout to officially announce that their fight is on.
The pre-fight press conference was spearheaded by Premier Boxing Champions and
was a pay-per-view.
During the press con, Floyd Mayweather’s name was brought up as Spence admitted
that the unbeaten boxer has been reaching out to him to help him and mentor him.
“He talks to me and things like that. He tries to mentor me, so he’ll definitely reach out. If
says he’ll reach out, he definitely will,” Spence said via BoxingScene.
On the other hand, the 42-year Filipino great compared Spence to Mayweather saying
that his 31-year old opponent is better than Mayweather.
He even threw shades on his former rival.
“He could teach Mayweather how to fight toe-to-toe,” he said.
At the end, both fighters acknowledged the power and strength of each other as they
brace for an all-out war come August 21. Pacquiao will be the challenger as he lost his
belt due after not fighting for a certain period of time while Spence will defend his belt on
the biggest fight of his boxing career.

Francis Ngannou cries ‘deception’ vs Anthony Joshua camp

Former UFC fighter Francis Ngannou accused AJ camp of ‘trickery’ when he suffered devastating knockdowns in the first and second round last March 8, 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The MMA fighter and former UFC heavyweight champion said that AJ camp sabotaged him by letting him go early in the arena.

“We both fought at 3am. What I think, something that’s happened is that they get me to the arena very early. Like my pickup time was 10.30pm to go to the arena. And then when we get to the arena, they tell us that we are scheduled around 1.45am. right?” Ngannou blurted.

He believed that he came exhausted, which resulted in his humiliating defeat.

Texas Department urges Mike Tyson to pass EEG, EKG tests

The 57-year old legend Mike Tyson (50 wins – 6 loss) vs 27-year old YouTuber Jake Paul (9 wins – 1 loss) must undergo major tests before the fight to materialize at AT&T Stadium in Texas Arlington on July 20, 2024.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR) urged Tyson to undergo or pass a brain test Electroencephalography (EEG) and Electrocardiogram (EKG) for the heart.

“A person aged 36 or older applying for a contestant’s license must submit a report of favourable physical testing conducted within the previous 12 months, including but not limited to an EEG and an EKG.” TDLR elaborated.

Meanwhile, the American youtuber explained that he picked Tyson because he wants to change the history of boxing. He already fought Floyd Mayweather Jr but he lost.

Victor Wembanyama broke a record of 100 blocks as a rookie last January 8, 2024 in Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, Cleveland, Ohio vs Cavaliers.

Spurs center and power forward Wemby has played 31 games so far and his 4th block on the said game made him the 6th player in NBA history to reach that mark in their first 35 games.

The NBA records show that Wemby (2023-24) hit Tim Duncan at the 6th place as a rookie with the most games played. Shaq had 28 and Alonzo Mourning 18 in 1992-93.

The other NBA players who also reached that 100 blocks record as rookie are Shawn Bradley (1993-94), Alonzo Mourning (1992-93), Shaquille O’Neal (1992-93) Manute Bol (1985-86), Terry Tyler (1978-79).
