Mayweather Promotions ace Gervonta Davis close to book a fight with Leo Santa Cruz

A blockbuster fight between two world champions is nearing to be inked as Gervonta \’Tank\’ Davis chooses to fight Leo Santa Cruz that could happen post-pandemic.

Santa Cruz, who became a four-division world champion after a triumph on the belt vacated by Davis in the 130 pounds was loud and bold in challenging the Tank as his next opponent.

Davis, meanwhile leaped to the lightweight division scoring a 12th round KO victory to preserve his untainted boxing record.

“Leo Santa Cruz will be Tank’s next fight and we’re working through all the aspects of when that might be. We’re working through the details as we speak. We were headed in one direction, and then the pandemic came. We’re regrouping. I can assure you and the fans that both guys want the fight,” Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of the Mayweather Promotions said in an interview with Boxing Scene.

Both corners are expecting the fight to be filled and hype as they plan to make the fight later in the year to gather more fans into it.
