Lakers in worry as Anthony Davis re-aggravates injury

By Ponciano Melo – The concern is growing within the Los Angeles Lakers as superstar Anthony Davis exited during their game against the Denver Nuggets holding his right Achilles.

The 27-year old frontcourt played in the first half putting 15 points before he hurt himself during a drive to the basket with Nikola Jokic defending.

He was able to sink two free throws before he went to the locker room where he was ruled out for the rest of the game.

According to reports, he will undergo an MRI to see if his Achilles injury has worsened. Davis already sat out two games before the defeat to Denver due to his Achilles\’s tendons.

The result of the MRI will be crucial to the defending champions as the regular season is still far from over. The Utah Jazz who are on a roll had already overtaken the Lakers in the NBA power rankings. The Jazz is now the top team in the NBA winning 17 in their last 18 games.

Another concern will be the minutes LeBron James will play if Davis’ MRI result will force him out for some time.

The 36-year old James has been playing over 40 minutes on their last four games. It will be wise if his minutes inside the court will be limited to prepare in the postseason. However, that will not be the case if Davis\’ injury turned out to be worse than expected.
