Double whammy for Casimero after failing weigh-in

Published

John Riel “Quadro Alas” Casimero is facing maybe the biggest dilemma of his boxing
career.
The WBO Bantamweight World Champion will not participate on his scheduled main
event fight against Paul Butler after failing to make weight in the weigh-in. Not only he
will not fight but the WBO might as well stripped his belt due to this.
According to report, Casimero was rush to the hospital after suffering viral gastritis
“Watching (Casimero) in and around the hotel, he didn’t look in a great place trying to
make weight. Every time I’d walk past the treadmills to go outside to just chill at the
pool, he was on them. He was outside Wednesday in the sun, just shadowboxing with
his sweatsuit on, a belt around him. You could see he was struggling, but he’s had
eight, nine weeks to get to this point,” Butler said on iFL TV.
Specific updates on Casimero are still scarce as of the writing but his replacement has
been already named.
41-year old Joseph Agbeko was tap in place of Casimero.
