LAS VEGAS – Isinagawa na ang final press conference sa inaabangang Canelo “Saul” Alvarez kontra Sergey “Krusher” Kovalev na gaganapin sa ika-2 ng Nobyembre (Nov 3. PH time) para sa WBO light heavyweight world title. Mapapanood din ang laban via DAZN.

Malaking respeto ang ibinigay ng bawat boksingero sa isa’t isa.

Nang tanungin si Canelo kung bakit si Kovalev ang kanyang napiling katunggali, anya’ nito, “he’s the best in his division, he’s one of the best, that’s why we chose him, to make history by fighting one of the best.”

Ayon kay Eddy Reynoso, ang head trainer at manager ni Canelo, handa na silang ipakita ang kanilang plano sa darating na laban upang manalo kay Kovalev. Mataas ang kanilang paghanga kay Kovalev ngunit handa na si Canelo na iuwi ang titulo, dagdag pa nito.

Papuri rin ang binigay ni Kovalev kay Canelo sa pagsasabing “I’m sure this fight is going to be very interesting and very difficult for both of us because we never step back, [we] never give up.”

May inihanda ring plano si Kovalev at handa na rin nitong depensahan ang kanyang titulo kontra sa Meksikanong boksingero.

Sa kasalukuyan, ito raw ang pinakamalaking laban ni Kovalev at wala naman siyang balak na patumbahin si Canelo.

Gayunman handa nitong ibigay ang magandang laban para sa mga manonood.

Sa kasalukuyan, hindi pa napapatumba si Canelo na mayroonng 52 na panalo, 35 dito ay knockout, isang talo, at dalawang draw.

Samantalang si Kovalev ay mayroong 34 wins, 29 via knockouts at tatlo palang ang talo at isang draw.

Francis Ngannou cries ‘deception’ vs Anthony Joshua camp

Former UFC fighter Francis Ngannou accused AJ camp of ‘trickery’ when he suffered devastating knockdowns in the first and second round last March 8, 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The MMA fighter and former UFC heavyweight champion said that AJ camp sabotaged him by letting him go early in the arena.

“We both fought at 3am. What I think, something that’s happened is that they get me to the arena very early. Like my pickup time was 10.30pm to go to the arena. And then when we get to the arena, they tell us that we are scheduled around 1.45am. right?” Ngannou blurted.

He believed that he came exhausted, which resulted in his humiliating defeat.

Texas Department urges Mike Tyson to pass EEG, EKG tests

The 57-year old legend Mike Tyson (50 wins – 6 loss) vs 27-year old YouTuber Jake Paul (9 wins – 1 loss) must undergo major tests before the fight to materialize at AT&T Stadium in Texas Arlington on July 20, 2024.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR) urged Tyson to undergo or pass a brain test Electroencephalography (EEG) and Electrocardiogram (EKG) for the heart.

“A person aged 36 or older applying for a contestant’s license must submit a report of favourable physical testing conducted within the previous 12 months, including but not limited to an EEG and an EKG.” TDLR elaborated.

Meanwhile, the American youtuber explained that he picked Tyson because he wants to change the history of boxing. He already fought Floyd Mayweather Jr but he lost.

Victor Wembanyama hits Tim Duncan, O’ Neal records

Victor Wembanyama broke a record of 100 blocks as a rookie last January 8, 2024 in Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, Cleveland, Ohio vs Cavaliers.

Spurs center and power forward Wemby has played 31 games so far and his 4th block on the said game made him the 6th player in NBA history to reach that mark in their first 35 games.

The NBA records show that Wemby (2023-24) hit Tim Duncan at the 6th place as a rookie with the most games played. Shaq had 28 and Alonzo Mourning 18 in 1992-93.

The other NBA players who also reached that 100 blocks record as rookie are Shawn Bradley (1993-94), Alonzo Mourning (1992-93), Shaquille O’Neal (1992-93) Manute Bol (1985-86), Terry Tyler (1978-79).
