AD puts monster double-double as Lakers complete Pau Gasol's jersey retirement with a win

The Los Angeles Lakers made sure it will be a double celebration in the Crypto.com Arena after taking down the Memphis Grizzlies on the night the franchise retired Pau Gasol’s jersey.

Anthony Davis, despite suffering a nose injury, finished with a monster double-double of 30 points, and 22 rebounds as the Lakers took full advantage of the Ja Morant-less Grizzlies.

Dennis Schroder, Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura each scored 17 points to back up Davis in a much-needed win.

Prior to the start of the game, Pau Gasol turned emotional during his ceremony as his jersey now sits beside his best buddy, the late Kobe Bean Bryant up in the Lakers’ rafters.

Bryant’s wife, Vanessa was also in attendance to show appreciation to Gasol, whom the family had been close with for a long time.

His former Chicago Bulls teammate, Jimmy Butler, also made a surprise appearance in the arena to watch Gasol’s historic night
