McGregor was too focus on Pacquiao; he forgot how to MMA.

Published

Conor McGregor suffered his first knockout defeat in the UFC against Dustin Poirier. And, of course, there will be excuses and reasons why he lost.
One of the evident reasons was the leg kicks he endured. Why? Because McGregor was doing boxing all the time inside the octagon.
He forgot how to fight in MMA. He was too focused and was looking forward to fighting Manny Pacquiao. He treated Poirier as a boxing opponent, but in MMA, you can use almost every part of your body. Hence, his stance was boxing making his legs wide open for kicks.
Poirier maximized that opportunity that led to his well-deserved revenge victory.
\”Forty seconds in three years is all I\’d had up to this bout. I was savoring every second and enjoying my work [but I was a] little single-disciplined in my approach and stance with mostly boxing,” McGregor said.
\”It\’s what I get for picking this bout and opponent as a precursor to a boxing match against Pacman. I deserved to get the legs kicked off me going in with this thinking.\”
The result was devastating for McGregor. Many suggest that he completely forget Manny Pacquiao and their fight despite the possibility that it will still happen.
If McGregor would want to last and be on the top once again, he needed to change his ways. He needed to get back to the start; if not, he will one of those forgotten superstars in UFC.
If he wants a rematch with his rival Khabib Nurmagomeodv, he has to earn it. It is not enough that he was once a champion. His losses impacted his career, and he needed a new run to bring back the glory he lost.
Forget about boxing, do what you\’re best at, Conor McGregor. Stay in the UFC.

Francis Ngannou cries ‘deception’ vs Anthony Joshua camp

Former UFC fighter Francis Ngannou accused AJ camp of ‘trickery’ when he suffered devastating knockdowns in the first and second round last March 8, 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The MMA fighter and former UFC heavyweight champion said that AJ camp sabotaged him by letting him go early in the arena.

“We both fought at 3am. What I think, something that’s happened is that they get me to the arena very early. Like my pickup time was 10.30pm to go to the arena. And then when we get to the arena, they tell us that we are scheduled around 1.45am. right?” Ngannou blurted.
