Irving to team up with Doncic in Dallas as Mavs get trade deal done

The Kyrie Irving saga ended quickly and it wasn’t what everyone was expecting.

Brooklyn agreed to trade the superstar to Dallas for Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, a 2029 unprotected first-round pick, a 2027 second-round pick, and a 2029 second-round pick. according to Shams Charania of The Athletics.

This was after Irving expressed his intention to leave the Nets before the February 9 trade deadline.

With this move, he will be teaming up with Luka Doncic in hope to elevate their chances to reach the NBA finals.

Irving is currently averaging 27.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.3 assists while Doncic is posting 33.4, 8.9 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game.

This is an unlikely duo and some are questioning how they will perform together. While others may think Dallas is now a championship-caliber squad, its NBA championship odds shrink after acquiring Irving.

Meanwhile, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are back to square one of thinking how they will make their season better as the plan to reunite James and Irving failed once again.

The Lakers superstar then posted another cryptic tweet after the trade saying “Maybe It’s Me.”

Fans were quick to troll and express sympathy to James as he continues to struggle with his current teammates in the West.
